Today, a lorry overturn on the M40 caused major delays. The road shut down most of the day between Junction 9 (Bicester) and Junction 10 (Ardley) northbound. The lorry blocked the entire road.
Southbound lanes were also affected. Crews were there to clear the scene and manage traffic. The Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service stated the M40 would stay closed for repairs.
Initially, National Highways thought the scene would clear by 7:00 to 7:15 PM. However, traffic is still at a standstill.
No severe injuries were reported. The lorry driver is being looked after by the South Central Ambulance Service.
Fire stations in Bicester, Kidlington, and Rowley Road helped with the response, showing teamwork.
Drivers are advised to find other routes and check for updates before traveling on the M40.
